Welcome to the Music Program!
The CSU Bakersfield Music Program offers a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music with emphases in Music Education and General Music; a Music minor; and curricular support for the General Education and Liberal Studies Programs. The Music Program enhances the cultural environment of the region through wind band, orchestra, jazz, chamber music, choral, and opera performances, as well as recitals, workshops, festivals, and sponsoring guest artists. Each summer, it hosts the CSUB Kodály Institute, a certificate-granting program endorsed by the Organization of American Kodály Educators, and the Bakersfield International Music Festival, a chamber music program for aspiring young artists.
