BIOGRAPHY
I joined CSUB’s English Department in 2020, where I lead courses in British, world, and children’s literatures for EMLL, EMCE, GE, and Liberal Studies students.
I’m passionate about meeting students where they are to help them reach their full potential, including navigating the difficulties of integrating learning into their unique lives.
My research and teaching ask questions about how literature tell us just stories, but about our histories and how things work in the real world; why we write books for children and young adults; and, most recently, about how AI technologies affect our thinking and learning. If you’re interested in any of these topics, or have your own passions you’d like to share, I’d love to have you in any of my classes.
