BIOGRAPHY

Following a B.A. in Humanities from UC Berkeley, Professor Dell’Amico tried her hand at video post-production, but she decided to teach English instead. She completed the requirements for a B.A. in English at CSULA and went on to its M.A. program, all of which convinced her that nothing would be better than a doctorate, which she pursued at Rutgers. To support herself, Dr. Dell’Amico taught as a graduate teaching assistant, an adjunct, and wrote innumerable entries and essays on British and American authors for Gale Cengage. Once having finished her dissertation, Dell’Amico joined the faculty at CSUB to teach British twentieth-century and postcolonial literatures, and film. 

Routledge published Professor Dell’Amico’s dissertation in 2005, and since then she has continued to publish on her (postcolonial) dissertation author, Jean Rhys, as well on various contemporary Irish authors: Anne Enright, John Banville, Sally Rooney. Her teaching assignments are wide and varied, and her abiding interests revolve around issues and debates in genre (the novel) and in postcolonial and WGS studies
