Application Period: October 1st - November 30th for Fall admission or August 1st – 31st for Spring admissions.
A $70 non-refundable application filing fee (or fee waiver) must be paid at the time of application submission. Application fee waivers allow you to apply to four CSU campuses.
When you apply for admission to CSUB through Cal State Apply you are automatically considered for an application fee waiver based on the information requested in the application. Click here for more information on the CSU Fee Waiver.

Thanks for submitting your application to CSU Bakersfield. Over the next few months, special attention will be given to reviewing each application. Your CSUB ID# will be sent to the email you provided on your application within 3 weeks of submitting your admissions application. Please note this is a mass email, it may end up in your spam folder. E-mail is our official means of communication, so it is important to check your email regularly.
There are a few steps you can take to make sure you have a smooth admissions experience:
- Activate your myCSUB portal using the CSUB ID# provided via email.
- Check myCSUB portal regularly for updates to your admission status, and for any items noted on your "To Do" list. Send any official documents listed on your "To Do List" as initiated by the deadline.
- Submit official transcripts with fall grades posted by February 17th for Fall admissions and September 30th for Spring admissions.
