Community College Concurrent Enrollment Program
CSUB’s Concurrent Enrollment Program provides motivated, talented community college students the opportunity to take one CSU college level course per semester at a deeply discounted tuition rates while still at your local community college. This exciting opportunity can help propel your academic career and reach a degree in less time.
The Concurrent Enrollment Program provides a second chance for those who have applied for CSU admission but may not meet admission eligibility requirements, have missed a critical deadline, or have decided not to proceed with formal admission. These prospective applicants can continue to work on completing eligibility at home campus and sample a course at CSUB to help ease the transition into the next level of their higher educational goals.
Our current partnerships include Bakersfield College and Taft Colleges.

The following items will need to be submitted for consideration into the program:
- Concurrent Enrollment Application
- Unofficial transcripts showing requirements are met
- Class schedule for the term in which you are trying to enroll
- Course Registration Number of CSUB course you would like to enroll into. You can use
the following link to find that information: Class Search
- The desired course must be open at time of registration and no have a waitlist.
- Please note: Nursing courses not available.
Eligibility Requirements
A student may qualify for concurrent enrollment if the applicant has met all of the following requirements:
- Completed at least one term at the home campus as a matriculated student
- Enrolled in a minimum of nine units at the home campus for the current term
- Earned a grade point average of 2.3 (grade of C) for all transferable work completed
- Paid appropriate tuition and fees at home campus for the current term
- Completed appropriate academic preparation and course prerequisites as determined by CSUB
- A California resident
Fees/Financial Aid
- You will be required to pay any course fees as required of other students (ID card, lab fees, material fees, breakage, computer usage, transcripts, etc.).
- Financial aid is available only through the home campus. Students eligible for Veterans, Rehabilitation, Social Security and other federal, state, or county benefits must secure eligibility certification through home campus.
- You are responsible for CSUB parking fees and regulations. CSUB parking permits are available at the Cashiering Office on a semester or daily basis.
Enrollment Conditions
- Enrollment is limited to one baccalaureate course per academic term on a space available basis.
- Approval for concurrent enrollment is valid for only the one term specified and subject to space availability, deadlines, registration procedures, and priorities of CSUB. You must reapply for each term you wish to concurrently enroll in.
- Students who were formerly enrolled at CSUB, but were academically disqualified, are not eligible to participate in the concurrent enrollment program.
- Completion of course prerequisite(s) must be completed prior to enrollment in the class and evidence provided via transcripts.
- Records of credits earned through concurrent enrollment are maintained by CSUB. Students may request official transcripts be sent to home campus for a fee.
- By enrolling in a CSUB course the student understands the course becomes part of their permanent transcript. CSUB credits are generally transferable to other higher-learning institutions and they are responsible for checking with other institutions to ensure CSUB course is transferable and how it may apply to their chosen program.
- Students who wish to drop a course after instruction begins must follow the drop procedures and policies of CSUB. Students must complete and submit an official drop form by the schedule adjustment drop deadline or risk having an unsatisfactory grade recorded on their transcript.
