Welcome to the Dual Enrollment Program

CSUB has partnered with three high school districts including— the Kern High School District, Delano Joint Union High School District, and Chaffey Joint Union High School District—to offer qualified high school students the opportunity to earn college-credit for Dual Enrollment courses successfully completed at their respective high school site.

CSUB Currently offers Dual Enrollment courses in Mathematics (MATH), French (FREN), Busniess Administration (BA), Geology (GEOL), Kinesiology (KINE), and Management Information Systems (MIS).

We plan to offer additional courses in the near future, so check back to see if your high school district has added more choices!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Students are allowed to take up to 6 units.
  • Typically, Dual Enrollment is reserved for high school juniors and seniors.  However, if the high school counselor identifies a freshman or sophomore who is qualified to take course, an exception may be requested.  To submit a request for an exception, please email Kris Grappendorf (Kgrappendorf@csub.edu).
  • Grades earned through the Dual Enrollment program are included in the student's academic record.
  • Credits earned may be applied to degree programs at CSUB or may be transferred to other universities.

  • In 2024, the CSUB Dual Enrollment Program was recognized at the California School Recognition Program (CSRP) Ceremony by the California Department of Education (CDE) for CSUB's "Exemplary Work in Dual Enrollment" (notably 2 of only 9 such awards given statewide).
  • In 2022-2023, CSUB had the largest Dual Enrollment programming within the 23-campus California State University (CSU) System.

The high school counselors and/or course teacher will work with the students to submit their application and registration through a new online system. CSUB is now using dualenroll.com for the application and reigstration for dual enrollment courses.
